Ingredients

Cocktail Ingredients
  • 1 bottle (750ml) champagne, prosecco, or sparkling wine chilled
  • 3 cups orange juice pulp-free, chilled

Equipment

  • Champagne flutes
  • Measuring cup
  • Refrigerator

Method

  1. Chill champagne flutes in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving for extra cold cocktails.
  2. Hold each champagne flute at a slight angle and pour sparkling wine down the side of the glass, filling each glass about halfway. This technique preserves carbonation.
  3. Slowly add chilled orange juice to fill the remaining space in each glass, maintaining the 1:1 ratio.
  4. Gently stir once with a cocktail spoon if desired, then serve immediately while bubbly.

Notes

Ratio Tips: Start with a 1:1 ratio of sparkling wine to orange juice, but adjust to taste. Some prefer 2:1 wine to juice for a stronger flavor.
Best Results: Use pulp-free orange juice and avoid ice to prevent dilution and maintain carbonation. Chill all ingredients overnight for best results.
Variations: Try blood orange juice, cranberry juice, or grapefruit juice for different flavors. Add a splash of orange liqueur like Grand Marnier for enhanced citrus notes.
Storage: Mimosas are best served immediately and don't store well due to carbonation loss.
