- Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the ground beef until no pink remains. Drain excess fat. Add taco seasoning and ½ cup water. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes until thickened. Stir in black beans if using.
- Wash and dry the lettuce. Place it in a large serving bowl or divide among plates. Top with seasoned beef. Add tomatoes, cheese, avocado, tortilla chips, salsa, and sour cream.
Notes
To add crunch and flair, serve with crushed tortilla chips or Doritos. Customize with your favorite toppings like jalapeños, red onions, or cilantro. This recipe works great for a taco salad bar setup too.
